QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PICKUP

Where do the extra charges begin for the hotel pickup?
If you are in the Cancun hotel zone or in downtown Cancun there is no extra charge for the transportation. Transportation is included from those locations. However south of Cancun from the Moon Palace down to Tulum there is an extra charge for the transportation. Please see the box above for the charges for the transportation from the Riviera Maya.

How will I know you when you arrive to pick me up?
Well first of all, at 5:30 in the morning there is not generally a lot of activity in any hotel. So we will be one of the only vans at the hotel at that time of day. Plus we will look for you and you look for us and as a last resort call your room.

What time do you pick up in the Riviera Maya or Playa del Carmen?
Your pick up time will depend on your hotel.
If you are in Playa del Carmen the pick up will be an hour before your departure time, but we will put the exact time on your coupon when you reserves.
If you are in a Riviera Maya hotel your pickup will generally be 30 minutes to 1 hour before your scheduled departure time.
When you reserve you tell us the hotel and we will inform you of the pick-up time.

FALL SPECIAL : Until Dec. 17, 2005 FREE Round Trip Transportation from your hotel in Cancun, Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya hotel to Tulum.

QUESTIONS ABOUT RESERVATIONS AND CANCELLATIONS

back to FAQ

What happens once I reserve?
Once you send in a reservation with your credit card we will charge your card the amount of the tour plus the added transportation fee if you are outside the Cancun hotel zone. Then we will send you a coupon which you will print and bring with you to be given to the driver at the time of pickup. The coupon is your proof of purchase and will have a unique confirmation number and coupon number on it and an emergency phone number to call if something goes wrong.

What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel any fishing trip up to 24 hours before departure and only pay a 5% administrative processing fee. If the trip is cancelled because the port is closed by the port captain then you will receive a 100% refund. Click Here! To see all Cancellation and Change Policy.

What if I want to change the date of the trip?
No problem, we will gladly move any trip for you to a different day, space permitting, as long as you give us a minimum of 24 hours notice. There is no fee for changes.

Is it possible to make a fishing reservation when I get to Cancun?
Yes. We do recommend you make your fishing reservations as far in advance as possible so that you are sure to your share fish trip when you want to go. During the high season from January to August there are many times we have no boats available 2-3 days in advance. To reserve once you arrive in Cancun call us at 898-4312 or if you are outside Cancun call us at 01-998-898-4312, and from the states 1-800-860-5917.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BOATS

back to FAQ

We have more than 6 people do you have more boats?
Yes one boat will accommodate 6 but will be much more comfortable with a maximum of 4 or 5 . Yes we have more boats available if you have a group.

What is the maximum number of people on the boat?
The boats are private and just for you and your party. The maximum on one boat is 6 people. Our boats are 25 foot Mexican fishing boats and can handle up to 6 fishermen or combination of fisherman and observers. We do not have share fishing for Shallow Water Bottom Fishing.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE FISHING

back to FAQ

What are we likely to catch?
In the lagoon where we go you may catch Snapper, Groupers, Sting Rays, Grunts, Sea Trout, Perch, Yellowtail Snapper, Snook, Amberjack and Lady Fish or Skip Jack.

What happens to the catch?
When you get back to the dock there is a nice open air restaurant. While you sit and relax and enjoy the view of the lagoon and have a “cool one” –included of course- the crew is going to give your cleaned fish to the restaurant personnel to prepare you a Mexican style fish lunch. A true adventure in itself – hot sauce included but optional.

What happens if we do not catch any fish?
First of all it is very rare that we do not catch fish on this trip. However in the rare event that happens then the restaurant has plenty of fish for your lunch. Lunch is included if you catch fish or not- and yes it will still be a Mexican style fish lunch- and yes it is very tasty.

Do you provide the equipment?
Yes, we supply all needed fishing equipment, boating equipment and baits.

Can I bring my own equipment?
Absolutely, if you have a favorite rod, reel, lures, flies or special bait bring them.

How deep is the water?
The water where we fish will be a minimum of 15 feet deep. We may go out deeper but seldom will go shallower. But it does depend on where the fish are that day. My recommendation is trust the guides. The guide’s job is to “put you on fish.” Then your job is to get them in the boat. We do always stay in the protection of the lagoon.

Will I get seasick?
On this particular trip we do no leave the protection of the lagoon. However seasickness depends on the individual and the conditions of the sea the day you go fishing. We recommend that if you do not know if you get seasick that you take a commercial motion sickness medication or use the wrist bands or patches that go behind the ear. Why take a chance?.

Do I need wading equipment?
No. This is not a wade fishing trip. You will never leave the boat.

How does this differ from fly fishing and spin tackle fishing?
On our fly fishing and spin tackle fishing trips we are using surface lures and on this trip we fish on the bottom with bait and we are fishing for totally different species of fish. To see information on flats and fly fishing click here. The boats are larger for the bottom fishing trip than the shallow water boats we us for fly fishing and spin tackle fishing.
